Nat King Cole’s L-O-V-E is the best thing about this movie, based on Allison Pearson’s novel. The next best thing is Pierce Brosnan as Sarah Jessica Parker(SJP)’s charming new associate and the third best thing is a tie between Greg Kinnear (as SJP’s architect husband) and the two adorable child-actors (2 years old & 4 years old).
SJP plays a fund manager/financial analyst at a major investment bank who checks on her kids every day, even during lunch, when she should be working as “nothing is more important” than the kids. When she gets handed a major new account that will require frequent travel, her husband also wins a new job and thing get even more complicated. Even when they come to a resolution, life is still going to be a mess, but it’s their own mess and they will have to keep on juggling, knowing that the key to jugggling is not catching but throwing.
It is an entertaining movie to watch; I didn’t know SJP can really act, and is not just an irritating fashion plate!
