Love and Goodbye

lovegoodbye

When love comes a-knocking

You plunge in without thinking

When life’s claims are stinking

Your illusions start shrinking

There’s no turning back the clock

No way to go back and take stock

To look ahead and prepare for shock

When love dies and leave you with mock

A touch full of renunciation

A beautiful face in desolution

The eyes briming with desperation

Tells of dreams lost and isolation

Is love just an illusion

Lurking for a final separation

When the whole of life has gone by

There’s nothing left but goodbye
