Like beating a red traffic light,
I am worried and unsure:
Would such a mistake be considered
slight, and so be forgotten?
I have put in my best effort –
I’m satisfied, I’m careful;
When I recall those fortuitous days,
I want to applaud quietly.
The competition may be strong
and whether I win or lose
I’m not frightened but will look forward:
I’m willing to try everything.
I want to write and sing for you,
the brightest star in my world;
I hope you will one day realise
you’re the reason I am around.
