Harbour

Time is a harbour –

it keeps me berthed.

Your love was my harbour –

but then I’ve burnt my ship.

How foolish I was:

afraid of the dark;

too late, I now realise,

and I cannot go back.

I’m left wondering,

in need of rescue;

How long before I find

another safe harbour?

I still have a dream –

that I’ll find true love;

I will hold on to it

and be lonely no more.
