Autumn Night In A Mountain Lodge

This is my translation of another poem by Tang poet Wang Wei (701-761):

Mountain empty after a rainfall,

Night air indicating it’s autumn.

Bright moon shines between the pines,

Clear spring flows over the stones.

Bamboos rustle as women return,

Lotuses sway with fishing boats.

The fragrant season has passed,

But my noble friend remains.
