A Grudge Against Spring

A Tang poem by Cen Shen (715-779):

Against the sheer gauze windows,

The sun sets as twilight approaches;

Inside a golden house,

Nobody sees the stain of tears.

At the empty vacant yard,

Spring seems to be shrinking away;

Pear petals everywhere,

But the doors are not open.
