The Gold-Threaded Gown

My translation of a Tang poem by Du Qiu Niang (around 790):

 

Cherish not the gold-threaded gown!

Cherish instead the days of youth!

Pick the flowers that are in bloom,

Do not wait till the twigs are bare.
